Prevent Bot Registration using Botscout
Thanks for that, how do we make this thread solved?
We don't as it is a discussion thread relating to a mod
Most control panels does not support a ".rar" unzip. It would be nice if you can change to a ".zip" file for easy unzip in the conrol panel.
I must ask a dump question. How can I verifiy whether BotScout is catching bots. This just to verify whether I have installed correctly. I can quite easily see in the Honeypot logfile that it is working and mine does work fine. Can you point me in the right direction?
I seem to specialise in #$%^.. dumb questions but where do I check whether Botscout is actually checking bots and such. I can see that honeypot is actually checking things in the honeypot log file.
Any chances of someone updating this to work with the current version? I followed all the instructions but still not able to make it work.
Okay after deleting everything and starting over I was able to install the mod with no errors.
However, I did see one bot registration afterwards and banned/deleted it.
I too would like to figure out how to see if the bot is actually working.
I'll keep digging maybe there is a post somewhere that explains it.
Well even though the mod installed without the dreaded white (blank) page error it seems register.php is having a tough time finding the BotScout.php file even though it is placed inside the includes folder like the instructions say.
I have tried adding: includes/BotScout.php and even the full path: home/username/public_html/bohauction/includes/BotScout.php but nothing is working.
Sure wish there were someone still helping on this forum as I could use some guidance.
I found a different solution that so far works great and posted about it here: http://www.webidsupport.com/forums/index.php?threads/ip-block-list.15585/
