    I'm getting this error on upgrading. Then I tried a fresh install, and copied over my data.inc.php and still got this. I'm gonna try a full blown install with a new database and see if I get the same results.

    Additionally, everytime I try a new RC, the install directory is named like install2, which probably was by mistake.

    Additionally, the new RC6 data.inc.php has this code inside of it which I think is a mistake. It never had this code in it before..
    Code:
    <?php
    $DbHost     = "localhost";
    $DbDatabase = "auction";
    $DbUser     = "root";
    $DbPassword = "";
    $DBPrefix	= "webid_";
    $main_path	= "C:\\xampplite\\htdocs\\WeBid\\";
    //echo '<script type="text/javascript">window.location = "install/install.php";</script>';
    ?>

    ok..I did manage to restore it. I can't upload it in this forum, I think uploads are turned off. Also, just to let you know alot of whats in this log is from that config that was never updated I told you about. So it has different paths in it other than what should have been the default.

    Just upgraded from RC6 to RC8 and noticed a single SQL query to run (right?).

    I haven't been doing the install every time so I'm wondering if I've missed any SQL in the updates to get my database up to snuff.

    Copy all the files across except install directory and the includes/data.inc.php file

    I would suggest to make a backup first. I have not lost my custom changes doing it this way. some things I have noticed though is things like the categories will be gone. I just go into admin then categories then submit without any changes and they show back up.

    I would also suggest to go through previous versions sections in the testers area. Depending on what version your going from you may need to make some DB changes.

    Not sure if the DB changes comment was directed at me. I started (again!) with a clean download of 0.7.2 RC6 and at that time I did not do any SQL queries (just missed it since I didn't install again).

    It appears that the single update query is identical in RC6 & RC8 so I think I'm ok. I did not do the dump SQL since my DB was already repopulated with categories.

    Just double checking I haven't missed something that was not specifically noted in the 0.7.2 section.

    Thanks!

    Cool, thanks for the confirmation. I'll start opening the install regardless from now on.

    Glad I looked "into" the dump one! DOH!

    Re: 0.7.2 RC9

    Ok, I see there is an updater but that would break my categories.

    Can you ok my procedure?:
    1. Compare all folders/content and copied my custom edits (particularly attention to categories (complete overwrite with my set), data.php settings, messages, etc.) and saved the new version files with my custom stuff.
    2. Upload entire set of folder/files without install or update.
    3. Apply any SQL fixes/changes directly (see nothing new in RC9).
    4. Clear cache just for good measure.
    5. Wait 1/2 day for new RC! ;)

    Think it's cool but nice to have the Renlok seal of approval!

    P.S. re: messages misspellings:
    Is this right xxx feedback's? Think feedbacks was right though still sounds weird. Think feedback is it's own plural too but with current I think it denotes ownership by "feedback".

    Suggest:
    Newest feedback's - Newest feedback
    View all feedback's - View all feedback
    Number of feedback's - not sure where this one shows and would make a difference but possibly Total feedback received.
    Feedback's you received - Feedback you've received

    I'll try to do a power testing today/tommorrow to verify last minute issues. I think its better to be sure in a quality product then find them (bugs) again later and have to do more RC's. It doesn't make the product nor the developer look good. I'll let you know if I come up with anything. Thanks guys
