    are you any good at taking things to bits Renlok? if you can open it up it will be a blown Electrolytic Capacitor usualy a long round tall thing standing up from the PCB look for one with a blown out top or bulging top and or bottom. dead easy to replace if you can uses a soldering iron.

    I can see the one that has blown just not sure I trust myself enough with electronics to use a power unit fixed by myself. Might do it anyway and keep it for a spare

    Yeah so long as you replace it with one with the same numbers on like 16V 1500uF (you can go up on the first number but not the second so if it says 16V 1500uF on it you can put a 20V 1500uF one in place) and provided you put it back in polarity correct it should be fine. I may even have a brand new or an old working pulled cap in my box I can send to ya as I do this kind of stuff all the time.
